Kim Chee and onion bread

We had a productive day yesterday, my energy waxed and waned throughout the day, with a final burst of inspiration at 8:00PM to prepare kim chee and onion bread. This is after finally rearranging the entire kitchen. Moving all dish ware to the pantry, all foodstuffs to the cupboards and all supplements to the spice rack after putting all spices into the drawers on either side of the stove. It feels quite a bit more manageable for raw food prep. I also made rawnola, started sprouting buckwheat grouts for cereal, marinated some portabellos and made sunflower seed pate. Not to mention slicing turnips for quick ravioli later on today. I know that I write and talk alot about raw food, but bear with me, I am actively learning and practicing a new skill, one I know that is integral to my future as a person and as a healer, so I am a bit obsessed.
Doug is doing well. He is starting to gain weight again, which is very much welcomed. He has looked at bit like a skin covered rack of bones lately. He could use a few more pounds of flesh on his bod. He feels well, but is a bit unsteady on his feet. That didn't stop him from painting the office yesterday, the southern wall is now tricked out in a lovely "Juicy Mango" It really warms up the office. I am sure he will be on the job again later on today, though even he is surprised at how low his stamina has sunk. We took more money out of retirement for his treatments Friday, hoping that this will be the last withdrawal for a while if ever again. Feeling like the initial treatment period will be over in 2-3 weeks and that he can start on maintenance. Then maybe we could travel down to SV and recuperate in the mountains and fresh air. It would be a big endeavor to get all the kitties and food prep stuff down there but we could stay for a while.
So I really need to concentrate on packing for our trip on Thursday. We are attending the second installment of Brad Keeney's Shaking Medicine certification course that Doug started at the beginning of the year. It is being held for 3 days in Portland. Oregon. They invited him free of cost and invited me along too. So I am hoping to catch up on relaxation and reading while his community there cares for him. I might join in on some of the shaking too if the spirit moves me. We are bunking with another raw food couple from eastern Canada, so that should be fun. The pets are all taken care of and I think we snagged a ride to the airport. Now to figure out the best use of space for our food and prep things, while keeping in mind that we are going to a cold damp place. I think I have my work cut out for me.
